---KHS Scholarship Program News Release---
On behalf of Kingsford High School and Breitung Township Schools, we are proud to recognize Landon Adam.
Landon Adam, Kingsford High School Class of 2026 senior, has been selected as a semifinalist in the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Approximately 1,300 high school seniors were selected out of over 105,000 applicants. Selecting semifinalists is the first of three phases of selection for the program. Semifinalists were invited to complete the second phase of the application process in December. 250 Regional Finalists will be chosen to continue through the selection process. Notifications of the committee's decision will be sent via email in early January 2025 to continue on to the final selection process. Among these applicants, 150 high school seniors will be selected to receive a $20,000 college scholarship.
Landon is the student of Michael and Angela Adam of Breitung Township. Landon Adam demonstrates an impressive record of academic excellence and high-level involvement in sports, leadership, and work. Academically, he is at the top of his class with a rank of #1. His athletic career is marked by exceptional performance, as evidenced by his 2 all-district team selections as the starting Varsity Soccer goalkeeper and his success as a Varsity Tennis player. Notably, he went undefeated at singles during his junior year and won multiple championships, including the UP Championship, in both sports. In leadership, Landon served as the Junior Class Officer (Treasurer) and is a member of the National Honors Society, which requires a rigorous qualification process and community service. Furthermore, he demonstrates a strong commitment to his community through his work as a Big Brother in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program with two middle schoolers and through his employment at the Northern Lights YMCA. Landon's impressive record in academics, athletics, and community involvement showcases a truly driven and successful young man.
Landon plans to attend college next fall to study in the Physical Therapy or Actuarial field, and potentially continue his career in soccer.
